With more than 15 years of experience in the communications field, Brooks Media Services president Dawne Brooks knows the media field inside out. Brooks' expertise spans a variety of media avenues, from editing and publishing to writing and graphic design. In San Diego, Brooks served as the owner and publisher of her own independent magazine, wearing every hat from graphic designer and advertising salesperson to writer and editor. During her time as a managing editor for a suburban Chicago magazine, Brooks actively promoted the magazine to the public, as well as writing articles, editing copy, and designing advertising for the publication. As a copy editor and paginator at the North County Times, Brooks served as the key front page designer of the second largest newspaper in San Diego County. And as a former owner and webmaster of a successful mothering Web site, Brooks has excelled at writing and designing quality Internet locales. 

Brooks' most recent posts include editing and content consultation for various nonfiction and fiction book authors around the globe, development editing for Pearson Education/Prentice Hall's college textbook division, course editing for an accredited Ohio university, and copy editing in APA style of college dissertations for a great deal of doctoral candidates at universities around the United States.
